Located on the west coast of the island, at the bottom of a bay well sheltered from the winds, the village of Vathy is enchanting, thanks to its beautiful 16th century monastery, built directly on the beach with shallow waters and emerald green color. It’s the perfect place for a quiet vacation. Cars are prohibited in the village. The taverns serve local specialties such as “revithokeftedes”, in other words chickpea pancakes flavored with herbs, or even a salad with caper leaves. Try it, it’s divine.
